Fear the Walking Dead 105 – Cobalt

We get a quick look of the military facility and what they are doing the people picked from the community. We meet a smooth talking salesman who is talking as Doug is getting taken away.

Once back to the ‘safe zone’ we see Ofelia causing trouble with the soldiers wanting to see her mother. The are about to take her down until her military boyfriend steps in and calms her down.

The makeshift medical facility is in the college gym. We find out that Liza is one of the few nurse’s left. She request from the Doctor that she get to see everyone took from the the house and to talk to her son. Dr. says in time.

Madison searches the other neighbors house and stumbles upon Daniel and Ofelia with her boyfriend tied up in a chair. Madison questions them and Daniel assures Madison this is the ‘How we get them back’. Andrew gives the typical everything is going to be all right speech. They are planning on trading Andrews for the taken family members. Daniel knows they won’t trade. He plans on getting the information out of Andrew. He directs Madison to take Ofelia away and not bring her back while he does what needs to be done.

Travis is trying to find info on the missing people of the town. He tells the military if they don’t get some information they will have more then him to worry about.

Daniel is now in the basement talking with Andrew while preparing to torture him. Andrew starts telling him about where everything is. Daniel now has is straight razor out. He’s looking for more information.

Travis is now getting transported by the military to the city to see the hospital. They stop when the see a walker and give Travis a chance to kill one with a sniper rifle. Travis still can’t kill. He pulls back from the gun after seeing a name tag on the worker. One of the soldiers takes the shot and blows the head right off the zombie. The troop is now back on the road and gets a distress call and the troop raids a building to free some soldiers. You never see the walkers you just her all the chaos over the radio as Travis is left behind. Soldiers storm out of the building. They have a lot less men. They tell Travis they are just going to drop him off walking distance from the safe zone.

Daniel is covered with blood talking with Andrew. He wants to know what Cobalt is. We see Andrew’s arm and Daniel is shaving the layers of skin off of his arm.

We get another scene from the jail/holding facility from the beginning. The salesman negotiates with the soldier with a cufflink (Soldier looks like he already has some of the mans jewelry). Nick doesn’t get taken away from the cell because of his feaver. He promises the solder he’ll look after him.

Scene then cuts to Ofelia screaming and Madison running over. Daniel is now upstairs and Madison sees the blood. Daniel tells a story about telling Ofelia the horrible details on why they left their home. He tells Madison the only thing he didn’t tell Ofelia was which man in the story he was. Madison doesn’t react she just wants to know if they got all the information they need yet.

Liza has snuck down to the basement and found Grizelda. We find out she’s lost her leg and is in shock and sedated.

Travis gets back home and find Ofelia on the curb crying. He gets in the house and starts to question Madison about what is going on. We cut back to Daniel back in the basement with Andrew. Andrew is telling a story about 2,000 people turning on each other so quick and how they couldn’t tell who was infected and who wasn’t. That he locked and chained them all in an arena. Travis then barges in and Andrew tells the story of Cobalt. How the military is evacuating the area and termination of everyone and it’s all going down 0900 tomorrow.

Nick is detoxing hardcore now puking all over the cell. Nick questions his new friend on why he saved him. The man explains to Nick and sees someone who can help him in the future. That he knows the soldiers are leaving and he needs Nick to assist him when he makes his move. The man shows Nick a key.

Kids walking back to the house know something is wrong because the soldiers don’t care that they are breaking curfew anymore. (I intentionally left their part out of my recap because it was stupid….they broke shit)

Griselda is about to die. She’s losing it. She is just talking about the life her and Daniel use to have. Griselda takes her last breath. The Doctor lets Liza know she has to shoot her in the head because everyone comes back. Liza takes a gun used to put down life stock and shoots Griselda in the head.

Daniel leaves the safe zone to see if Andrew’s intel is correct. This is easier now that the patrols have all left the safe zone. He walks to the arena to find the zombies pounding on the door. Andrew is telling the truth.

The only redeeming thing about this episode is now that it is over and I wrote this I can go watch the season finale of Ray Donovan. The slow is turning into a hot mess. Travis still bugs the shit out of me. When is he going to do something. Hasn’t he witness enough to do something. Daniel is only thing I look forward to right now. I don’t care about anyone else. We now have 5 out 6 shows this season that have done nothing. We know the military has a plan to leave and that’s it. I give this one a C-.

Things I question about this episode:
Why is Daniel the only one leaving to see the arena?
Does it seem like Alicia has been gone for like 3 days?
No one in the mIlitary unit was looking for Andrew?
Why didn’t everyone run once they figured out what Cobalt was?
