The Flash 210: Potential Energy

Barry is racing around the city talking about a boy meets girl story. The run ends with a date with Patty. Barry confesses how lucky he is to have Patty. Zoom races into the scene and takes Patty. Barry chases after Zoom to the top of a building where Zoom drops Patty to her death. Barry wakes up in a cold sweat with Patty next to him.

The West family is doing a tour of the police. The police chief stops and lets Wally know how good a detective Joe is. Wally just responds with an obviously not. Wally is recognized by someone who is getting arrested and calls Wally taillights and ask where his cuffs are. Patty comes in and wants to have a conversation with Iris about Barry. Iris and Patty are in jitters and Patty wants to know why Barry is so guarded and tells Iris about Barry waking up from the dreams at night.

Back at STAR labs Wells is trying to solve a formula on the board. He gets frustrated and throws stuff. This brings Cisco in and he suggest to wells that maybe making Zoom slower is the solution to the problem. That maybe they can’t speed Barry up. Cisco thinks they can steal Zoom’s speed using the Turtle. Cisco shows footage of a robber that can slow down everything around him. He believes they can use this to stop Zoom. Barry questions why Cisco hasn’t brought this forward before now. Barry starts to search the computer in an attempt to find the turtle. He discovers something and races away. Barry has gone to the police station where they are returning some stolen jewels. Barry thinks he knows who the turtle is. He races towards the man. Just as he does he slows down time and takes the ring while winking at Barry as he escapes.

Back at STAR labs Barry is getting checked out by Caitlin. Wells and Garrick explain that they believe Turtles power puts everyone in a state of potential energy that’s why everyone slows down and he’s able to move right through the crowds unnoticed. Cisco and Wells leave to figure out how to use the Turtle against Zoom. Barry leave to catch Joe up on the situation. This leaves Jay and Caitlin alone in the lab. Jay is feeling bad because he can’t help anymore. Caitlin wants to see if they can get his speed back.

Barry and Joe are talking about Turtle back at the station. Barry notices Joe is all jittery. Joe is nervous about a family dinner that is going on tonight. Patty comes in and starts to pry into Barry and why he’s acting the way he is. Barry said that new year is when his mom died and it always brings back the memories. He tells Patty he wants to take him out.

At the West house later that night. Iris, Barry and Joe are all waiting for Wally. He no showed the family dinner. Joe is upset and leaves. Iris and Barry start talking about Patty. Iris tells about the conversation between the two of them. Barry tells Iris about the Zoom nightmares. Iris tells Barry that he needs to tell Patty about being The Flash. Barry agrees to tell Patty.

Back at STAR labs Cisco and the crew believe they found the next location for the Turtle. The are unveiling a recently recovered painting at a black tie event. Barry switches his date plans with Patty to take her to the art museum. Cisco questions whether or not taking a date to fight crime is the best idea. Barry lets the team know he’s going to let Patty in on his secret. It’s about a 50/50 split to tell her or not. Wells stops Barry not tell her because Zoom will find out and take her from him. So if he really cares to keep her far away.

Jay, Caitlin and Barry are at the museum searching for turtle while Cisco and Wells are watching from a security feed. Wells tells Cisco how Zoom got his name. When Zoom set up a trap to murder police officers and left one alive to tell his story. Cisco tells Wells that he will vibe anytime so he can know that his daughters still alive. Back in the museum Patty arrives. Barry has a vision from his dream of Zoom dropping Patty. Patty notices the weird look. Barry says that Patty looks like she’s from a dream. Patty and Barry share a dance. Barry starts to tell that he’s The Flash, in the middle of the story. Turtle appears and Barry says he has to good. Patty sees Turtle stealing the painting and pulls her gun. Turtle uses his power to take her gun. Barry comes back as the Flash. Turtle freezes the room and shoots the chandelier down from the roof. Barry fights the potential energy to save Patty. The lights go out and Team Flash is gone and so is Turtle with the painting.

Back in the lab Caitlin is examining Barry to make sure there’s no effect from Turtle. Barry realizes he left Patty behind and races back to the museum. Cisco and Wells start working on the turtle issue. Caitlin and Jay go to the back and share a glass of champagne. After the drink is over Jay leave to help Cisco and Wells. Caitlin takes Jay’s glass and it looks like she wants to run some test.

Now back at Patty’s apartment,Patty is upset with Barry. Barry gives no explanation on why he ditched her. Patty leaves the room with a tear in her eye.

Wally is in a car at drag race. Wally wins the race to the chant of tail lights. Wally wins the ride of his opponent. The crowd disperses and Joe is standing by a car. Wally is racing for money to pay for hospital bills of his mom. Wally tells Joe to leave to his family.

Back at Patty’s a knock on the door. Patty thinks it’s Barry but it’s Turtle. He says he there for the thing most precious to The Flash. Her.

Barry is at Patty’s apartment now and her door is left open but Patty is gone. Barry discovers the bullets on the floor and calls Joe and lets him know that he believes Turtle has Patty.

Turtle has Patty tied up. Turtle says he’s going to kill her to hurt The Flash. Turtle tells why he steals the things people love the most. His wife left him so he kept her forever. He shows Patty his wife. Then he unveils a second box with Patty’s name on it.

Cisco and the team figure out where Turtle is storing his trophies. Barry runs off without a plan. Barry arrives and Turtle stops him. Barry leaves the library to get a faster running start and powers through Turtles power and knocks him out to rescue Patty. Patty hugs Barry and thanks him. He still hasn’t told her.

Barry and the team are back in STAR labs and put Turtle in a cell. Caitlin stops Jay as they are walking away and ask Jay why he didn’t tell everyone he’s sick. Caitlin wants to help him find a cure. Jay says the only way to cure him is to get his speed back and they can’t do that unless they stop Zoom.

Back at the West house. Wally shows up at the door, Wally tells Joe he’s heading back home. Joe apologizes for trying to push the father/son thing so fast. That they need to slow down.

At the Police station Barry wants to really talk Patty about the situation. Barry admits he hasn’t been honest. Patty tells Barry she’s leaving to go to CSI school in Midway City. Patty says its time to move on from everything. She kisses Barry on the cheek and leaves.

Back in the lab Wells is continuing to try to figure out a way to get his daughter back. He goes into Turtles cell and pulls a piece of his brain out killing him. Wells finish his monolog that he will do anything to get her back.

A speedster is running down a familiar road and stops. It’s the Reverse-Flash. He stops pulls off his hood and its Eobard Thawne. He opens his hand to relieve Gidieon and ask Where am I?
