Shuck them panties and hit the porch! The writers of Hap and Leonard have gone back to work
Alright Hap and Leonard fans, it’s the moment we’ve been waiting for. The grand architects behind the superb television show have officially gone back to work. The news came by way of Twitter, when executive producer John Wirth tweeted: “Rolling to work with the man this morning!!“.

As an avid fan and host of Mike and Clint’s Hap and Leonard Hour, that was enough for me to get super stoked. We won’t see the new episodes until 2018 but you can bet I will keep my eyes and ears on the production for any morsels of news.
John Wirth also tweeted out a very brief behind the scenes video from inside the writing room, where we got a quick glimpse of what looked like some research on the KKK. The tweet is below.

It was announced May 1st via Deadline, that Hap and Leonard had been renewed by SundanceTV for a third season.
Based on Lansdale’s 1995 novel The Two-Bear Mambo, Season 3–will return James Purefoy and Michael Kenneth Williams to the sometimes-comedic Reagan-era crime series for six episodes to debut in 2018.
