John Constantine’s story will continue on The CW Seed
The CW has revealed that Constantine: The Legend Continues, the animated series created for CW Seed and starring Matt Ryan in his role as John Constantine, will air on the network in October.
Despite the demise of Matt Ryan’s short-lived NBC TV series, his portrayal of the infamous DC anti-hero quickly became a fan-favorite. Interestingly, The CW has continued to try and breathe new life into the defunct NBC/DC property by introducing Matt Ryan’s Constantine into various iterations of its hit DC programming; most recently DC’s Legends of Tomorrow has added Matt Ryan as a permanent cast for its upcoming 4th season.
Now, The CW has plans to continue the animated Constantine series that premiered last year on The CW Seed. Ryan will reprise his role in the animated feature and is set in the same continuity as last year’s City of Demons and the animated feature Justice League Dark (also starring Matt Ryan as Constantine). Recently, City of Demons has been removed from The CW Seed in lieu of the animated movie version that is set to drop Oct. 9.
Constantine: The Legend Continues is set to debut on Monday, October 15th, 2018 at 9 PM ET/PT on The CW which is directly after the season premiere of ‘Arrow.’ The initial episode will run an hour, and after it, there will also be an exclusive sneak peek of the new season of Legends of Tomorrow.

The Special Also Contains a Sneak Preview of the New Season of “DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow”
August 24, 2018 (Burbank, CA) – CONSTANTINE: THE LEGEND CONTINUES, the animated digital series which debuted on CW Seed, The CW’s digital network, will receive a special broadcast airing on The CW Network, Monday, October 15 (9:00-10:00pm ET), following the season premiere of ARROW (8:00-9:00pm ET). The special will be hosted by John Constantine himself Matt Ryan (DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW, “Constantine”).
Immediately following the special, The CW will present a sneak preview of the upcoming season of DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW, featuring interviews with the stars and producers about what’s in store this season. DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW premieres the following week Monday, October 22 (9:00-10:00pm ET).
CONSTANTINE: THE LEGEND CONTINUES follows DC’s popular comic book character John Constantine (voiced by DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW’s Matt Ryan), a seasoned demon hunter and master of the occult. Armed with an arcane knowledge of the dark arts and a wicked wit, he fights the good fight. With his soul already damned to hell, he’ll do whatever it takes to protect the innocent.
