Star Wars Resistance switches tones for the mid-season return

Star Wars Resistance offers a glimpse into the second half of its inaugural run and it looks to be a complete 180. From the very moment this show was announced, it had huge potential to become one of the most unique of all the Star Wars cartoon installments. Unfortunately, that has not been the case. Even though some may say the show has squandered its debut and intrigue, due to the fact that many fans have walked away from the show, the writers still have the ability to turn the nose up; It is not too late.

For much of the first half, the writers have diluted the possibilities with stooge-level antics, choosing goofiness over story. That being said, based on the mid-season trailer, Lucasfilm may have other plans for the series than the first half has led us to believe. The trailer depicts that not only have the stakes been risen but it will also be the first TV show to tie-in directly to the new sequel trilogy. This definitely has me more excited for a show I was starting to lose interest in. You can check the trailer below.
