Star Trek: Discovery – Discussion / Review
Star Trek: From the Holodeck is a fan broadcast dedicated to breaking down, analyzing and discussing all things Star Trek.
This week Mike and Dave discuss Star Trek: Discovery 4.05 ‘The Examples’.
Topics Discussed:
- The USS Janeway!?! – I need the model of that ship asap.
- Honestly, I’m surprised that we have not been given an updated “art of Star Trek Discovery” book; with being 900 plus years into the future.
- Overall, this was a rather straightforward episode that served to bring some context and flesh out some of the more important issues.
- Outside of the callback for us old schoolers, there’s got to be a story aspect at play when it comes to the continuum; (despite Q being in Picard’s second season), Admiral Vance said something quite intriguing; there’s been no contact with the continuum for 600 years).
- I liked Tarka, he’s the type of character that has staying power — he was unique and quirky and played by Shawn Doyle who’s grossly underrated as an actor.
- And more.
