- There are Lovecraftian themes being utilized, especially when you examine the relational elements that Gorn and La’ann share and how it’s been used to inform her development and characterization
- These are dark themes, that some might want to reject due to their apparent contradiction of Star Trek ideals, but if anything, it strengthens the Trek utopian idealized vision of the future by using lighter themes to solve the problems of dread and existentialism; like friendship, optimism, and kindness
- Moving into the pertinent story aspects, we were given quite a bit in the way of characters; the narrative worked to move various characters around and either conclude their story, strengthen their story or foreshadow things to come
