The Flash 209: Running to Stand Still

Wells is running around STAR labs with Zoom chasing. Wells misses an attempt to shoot Zoom and Zoom grabs Wells by the throat and lifts him from the ground. Wells tells Zoom to kill him but leave Jesse alone. Zoom is quiet and Wells yells at him to say something. Zoom answers with a Merry Christmas.
At Jitters Joe and Iris are talking about how Iris had to beg an old woman for the last Flash figure. They are discussing how weird the year has been and Joe wants to get Barry something special. Iris is thinking about her family.
Barry and Patty are kissing in Barry’s lab at the police department. Iris walks in an breaks up the makeout session. Barry and Iris talk about Patty and how Wells said he’d never be happy. Iris starts to cry and she tells Barry about her brother. She lets him know about Wally West and how she feels empty when she looks at Joe. Barry tells Iris they can tell Joe together. It starts to snow outside.
Jay and Caitlin are in the lab talking about how to close the breaches around the city. Caitlin thinks it’s nice of Jay to care about Barry so much. Jay responds with Barry isn’t the only one he cares about. Cisco who was standing in the doorway the whole time tells them to get it over with and kiss already. Cisco mentions how it’s all quiet on the metahuman front and that maybe Zoom is taking Christmas off. Jay plays like he doesn’t know what Christmas is. Cisco says he’s going to leave the lab and go find Wells. Just as he’s about to leave Wells walks in and acting weird. Cisco ask if everything is okay?
The snow is getting worse as we are now at Iron Heights. The widows in the prison explode as Weather Wizard comes in from outside. He uses his powers to take out some guards and gets Captain Cold out of his cell. They both go up starts to get the Trickster. The Tricksters cell is covered in Flash pictures.
Barry and Joe are investigating the break out at Iron Heights. Joe warns that Patty might not be in her right mind because of returning Weather Wizard. Patty leaves the scene because Barry doesn’t understand the situation with all the metahumans and Wells. Barry tells Patty not to do anything drastic. Patty doesn’t listen and leaves.
The rogues are in a toy warehouse. Wizard broke them out of jail to kill the Flash. Wizard knows that Zoom has damaged Barry that he’s vulnerable. Cold isn’t on board yet he wants to know the plan .
Back at STAR labs Jay, Caitlin, Cisco and Barry are coming up with a plan. Jay says he’s no good because his lack of speed. Cisco thinks of the plan that they used the first time to track the wizard down. Barry explains to Wells how he time traveled last time the wave was going to take out the city. Wells lectures Barry about changing time. Barry tells Caitlin he has to go take care of something.
In Barry’s lab at the police station Iris and Barry tell Joe about his son. Iris tells him the news. Joe needs some time to process the new he’s received and wants to get back to work. Barry and iris return how to find Snart sitting in their living room by the fire.
Snart tells Barry about Trickster and Wizards plan to kill Barry. Barry plees to Cold help him stop the duo. Cold lets Barry know he’s not into being a Hero and leaves the house.
Joe and Barry are having a talk at STAR labs about Joe’s gut instincts with being a dad and how he doesn’t have that for his son. Barry says he can’t have that feeling about someone he didn’t know. Joe tells Barry that he wasn’t protecting Iris from Francine that he was protecting himself. Now Joe blames himself for his son growing up without a father. Joe can’t even say Wally’s name. Barry assures Joe that if he knew about Wally that he would have been there everyday for him like Joe was for Barry.
Patty is in the police station and Trickster comes on all TV stations and declares how he wants to kill the flash. Cisco and the team start to analyze the video. Jay notices a reflection in Trickster’s eye Wells recognizes it as a toy he once gave his daughter. Cisco uses info to find the empty warehouse where they are. Flash speeds to the warehouse to find Patty already there. The Trickster has released thousands of dreidels made from C4. Patty and Barry are surrounded by them.
With the two surrounded and Barry having nowhere to run to escape the dreidels he tells Patty to hold on to him and turns his arms into propellers and flies out of warehouse. The building explodes just as they clear it. Barry warns Patty again about being reckless. Patty figured out the toy clue in the eye. We find out Patty’s father was killed because she ditched out on the family business and her father got killed because of it. Barry tells her if she kills the Wizard it’s not going to make everything better.
The tricksters now dressed as Santa passing out gifts to kids.
Zoom comes back through the breach in the lab and talks to Wells. He ask him if he’s made a decision yet. Wells tells him not yet. Zoom lets him know he has 24 more hours to decide.
In STAR labs Cisco finds the Wizard with the wond done Barry races off to confront him. Wizard fly’s off the roof and to the location of the trickster. They tell them 100 random children have bombs and that there’s no way Barry can get to them all. The only way Barry can save the kids is if he lets the Wizard kill him publicly. Wizard starts to attack Barry. The team figures out a to collect the bombs and put them through a breach. Just as Tricksters about to cut up Barry Cisco alerts him all the bombs are gone and Barry takes out the two of them. Patty arrives at the seen and uses the metahuman gun on Barry walks over to Wizard and pull her gun. Barry warns her that if she shoots him that she will go to jail and lose her life all over again. It works and Patty cuffs the Wizard.
Joe is in the lab with Barry and lets him know that everyone is over at the party. Joe tells Barry about the meeting with Francine and that he’s ready to meet another West. Joe takes off his watch that he got from his grandfather and tells Barry that he said one day he’d give it to his son. Joe leaves and Barry see Wells in the Lab. Barry tells Wells through the glass that he knows he’s not the same Wells but he forgives him. Wells sees Barry and ask him if he needs anything, Barry invites him to Joe’s house but Wells says he can’t celebrate without his daughter.
The team is at the West house decorating the tree. Jay uses the mistletoe to kiss Caitlin. Patty shows up to the house with a bottle of wine and an apology to Barry. There’s another knock at the door Joe opens it up to meet Wally for the first time. Joe invites him in
Wells meets Zoom at another breach. Wells has figured out that Zoom wants Barry to be more powerful so he can steal more of a speed force from him. Zoom brings Jesse along so Wells can see her. After seeing her Wells agrees to help Zoom steal Barry’s speed.
