This fall expect some Superman on Metallo action! According to EW:
“When Superman makes his way to Supergirl this fall, the Man of Steel will be facing off against one of his oldest foes from the comics. EW has learned exclusively that Frederick Schmidt has been tapped to play Metallo.”
The Kryptonite-powered supervillain Metallo, has a lengthy comic book past that dates back to 1959. That’s right. He’s one of the oldest foes of Superman and he’s coming to fight on the small screen. This should prove to be an interesting move on The CW’s part. Hopefully this signals a possible move from season one’s villain of the week, to having a more supervillain-esque baddie character arc that extends throughout the season. This could also simply be the motivator to keep Superman within the show for more than one episode, as rumors are reporting that Metallo will appear in at least two episodes, starting with the season 2 premiere, airing Monday, Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
