Rainn Wilson has joined the cast of Star Trek: Discovery and he has been cast to play Harry Mudd.
The iconic interstellar con man is back! According to Startrek.com “the Emmy Award-nominated actor Rainn Wilson has joined the cast of Star Trek: Discovery and he will play — Harry Mudd“. For those of you not in the know, Harry Mudd was a bit of a rogue and a notorious con artist. The Memory Alpha Wiki has this to say about him:
“Harcourt Fenton “Harry” Mudd was a male Human civilian in the 23rd century. He was a notorious con artist encountered several times by the crew of the USS Enterprise. Essentially more of a lovable rogue than a true villain, he lived by his wits on the other side of the law.”
Rainn joins actress Sonequa Martin-Green, who will star as the lead lieutenant commander, plus James Frain as Spock’s father Sarek, Anthony Rapp as a space fungus expert, Michelle Yeoh as of the Starship Shenzhou and Jason Isaacs as the captain of the Discovery.
