The wait is over, Star Trek fans! The first teaser trailer for Star Trek Discovery is here and it’s pretty cool

Star Trek Discovery, which will premiere on CBS with following episodes available at the subscription streaming site, is set about 10 years before Capt. James T. Kirk’s “five-year mission” in the original 1960s Star Trek series.

Revealed at the network’s ongoing Upfronts presentation, the trailer marks the first footage from Discovery. Set before the events of the original series, Discovery follows the crew of the Federation starship. Discovery’s captain is Captain Lorca (Jason Isaacs), however the series will be from the perspective of its First Officer, Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin Green).

Scheduled to debut in fall 2017, CBS has also announced that it’s increased the episode order to 15, up from the previously announced 13 episodes.
